Happy Labor Day!

Today we celebrate the working class and the Labor Movement. The men and women who built this country through hard work and sacrifice that the bosses could never understand.

I’m proud to be a Union member, following generations of family who joined the union movement and led to the life I have today. The Union ensures good pay, healthcare, and education for the next generations. And I’m the proud product of that.

However, today the working class slips further into poverty. Suppressed wages and a massive accumulation of wealth at the very top is starving the worker. I’m proud to be part of the labor movement, and to be a labor candidate fighting for the worker and their families. It’s time we sent labor leaders into the halls of power.

God bless the working class, God bless the AFL-CIO! Solidarity!

Our inaugural CEC meeting was a success. We grew our small town county party in a big way.

And we also got our first precinct chair in a long time in Patrice Elmore for Precinct 45. Congrats to everyone. And a special thanks to our special guest Liza Hameline for coming to our meeting to speak to us.

Here at the Hockley County Democratic Party, we mourn the loss of the GOAT that is Dolly Parton, may her legacy continue to live on in all of us. May she rest in paradise.

Through her Imagination Library– which has given more than 1 million books to Texas children since its founding– and her incomparable music career, Dolly Parton touched the lives of countless Texans. Rest in peace, Dolly 💙
