New Mexico educators deserve better compensation, it's as simple as that – and we will deliver it.

I'm proposing 7% raises for all New Mexico education personnel, as well as increasing minimum educator salary levels to $50,000, $60,000, & $70,000 – an average 20% increase.

If New Mexico kids deserve the best, and they do, then New Mexico educators deserve the best. I want our educators to be the best-compensated in the region. It’s more important than ever.

Good morning, fellow New Mexicans and District 9 communities!

We have so many to thank this morning, but first, we give thanks and give all glory to God as His hand has been over our campaign since its inception in 2015!

Second, thank you to all supporters including the most incredible supporter, greatest partner in life - our rock, our anchor, our compass, my husband, Gene Ruiz! I love you Sweet Honey, and am eternally blessed and appreciative that His plan was to bring us together! We are thankful for the blessings of our son and our Precious Pennsylvania Prides; familia es todo!

Thank you, to all whom called, texted, emailed, wrote letters of support, put out signs, donated, prayed and sent positive thoughts during this most-challenging of campaign seasons. is proud to say that we never participated in any negative campaigning, regardless of what we encountered; for this and countless other reasons, we are thankful for our team!

Thank you, to all that turned out in record-breaking numbers to make your voices heard by exercising your sacred right to vote; we are so grateful for you! Even in defeat, we are proud of the historic turnouts.

It has been both, an incredible honor and humbling to represent District 9, our students, educators, and education! My steadfast commitment is to continue to advocate for our children, education, and New Mexico, as a proud HMSD employee and educational advocate. As you all know, this has NEVER been about politics for me; rather, it has ALWAYS been about our children, education, our schools, and a true servant heart.

Congratulations and well wishes to Mr. Manis, and all candidates that chose to run; it takes courage. We continue to pray for our leaders, unity, our nation and our querida New Mexico.
