Adults, explore the history of handmade art! Join Hobbs Public Library for a series of hands-on workshops in September inspired by traditional folk-art techniques and crafts found throughout New Mexico. Learn about the traditions behind each craft, discover the techniques used by earlier generations of makers, and create your own piece to take home. No previous experience necessary—just bring your curiosity and creativity!

Today, we remember Dolly Parton and the incredible impact she has made through her lifelong dedication to helping children discover a love of reading.

Through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, children from birth to age five can receive a free book each month, helping make the joy of reading and the opportunity to build a home library accessible to families not only across the United States, but in communities around the world.

Dolly’s legacy reminds us to Dream More. Learn More. Care More. Be More. Her passion for children, education, literacy, and giving back has touched countless lives and will continue to inspire generations to come.

We extend our heartfelt thoughts and best wishes to Dolly’s family and loved ones during this time. We also want to continue sharing information about a project that was so meaningful to her and that continues to make a difference in the lives of children.
