For many years, Deep River County Park has been a gathering place for people and PLAY!

As we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Wood’s Historic Grist Mill’s 1876 construction (and 50 years since its restoration!), we’re honoring the simple joys that brought communities together like ice cream, music and games.

Join us this Sunday, August 30th from 2 PM to 5 PM to experience history firsthand with old-fashioned games:
Master the balance of walking on wooden stilts • Try your hand at the historic rolling hoop • Grab a friend for a game of graces • Maybe even play round of croquet

We hope to see lots of children and the young at heart come out to enjoy and afternoon of ice cream and games!

It’s a milestone celebration years in the making!

For 150 years, Wood’s Historic Grist Mill has stood along Deep River as a quiet witness to generations of stories, celebrations, and everyday life. It has been 50 years since the restoration by Lake County Parks. Today, Wood’s Mill still stands as a symbol of conservation and community.

Come spend one of our last summer Sundays this year creating new memories in a place that has connected people for generations.

This Sunday, August 30th from 2 PM to 5 PM, we invite our community to gather for a double milestone: celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Mill’s 1876 construction and the 50th anniversary of its 1976 restoration!

• Live barbershop quartet music • Ice cream sundaes & sarsaparilla floats • Old-fashioned games
