Canadian wildfire smoke has reached our area and may affect air quality. Limit strenuous outdoor activity, keep windows and doors closed, use air conditioning on recirculate, and consider an N95 mask if you must be outside.

Children, older adults, pregnant women, and those with heart or lung conditions should take extra precautions. Seek medical attention for difficulty breathing, chest pain, or severe symptoms.

AIR QUALITY ALERT | JULY 16

Wildfire smoke is contributing to unhealthy air quality across Northwest Indiana today. Hobart residents are encouraged to limit prolonged or strenuous outdoor activity and monitor conditions throughout the day.

Out of an abundance of caution and with the health and safety of our residents, visitors, and staff as our top priority, the Hobart Pool will be closed today, and the Summer Market on the Lake has been canceled.

People with heart or lung disease, older adults, children, and teens should:

• Avoid strenuous outdoor activities
• Keep outdoor activities brief
• Move physical activities indoors or reschedule them

Everyone else should consider choosing lighter activities, spending less time active outdoors, and waiting until air quality improves before exercising outside.

We appreciate your understanding and encourage everyone to stay safe until air quality conditions improve.

🌻 Hello friends!

We've had a heck of a summer, but I'm so excited to say that Story Time on the Farm is finally back! 📚🐐🐴

If you're looking for a fun, low-key evening with your little ones, we'd love to have you join us at Seven Gables Farm for an evening of stories, farm animals, and outdoor fun.

Designed for children ages 0–7 (older siblings are welcome!), Story Time includes:
📖 Farm-themed story time
🐴 Meet our horses, goats, and chickens
🌿 Time to explore nature

One of my favorite things about these evenings is watching kids slow down, get curious, and experience the joy of books and animals together. As both a teacher and a farmer, it's something that's very close to my heart.
