City of Ethics
Ethical Government

In 2002, the City of Hiram adopted the Code of Ethics for City Officials Ordinance in recognition of principles that provide the City and its citizens guidance on ethical governmental procedures and practices. The City of Ethics review and recertification was required by GMA in December of 2010. As a result, the City of Hiram reviewed and updated the City's Ethic

s Ordinance and passed the City of Ethics Resolution on December 7, 2010. On January 31, 2011 the City of Hiram was recertified as a Georgia Certified City of Ethics. The Mayor and City Council have resolved to conduct themselves as a group and as individuals in accordance to the City of Ethics principles and pledged to conduct its affairs accordingly. Principles of Ethical Government
These principles are designed to guide the elected officials as individuals and as a governing body:

Serve others, not ourselves
Use resources with efficiency and economy
Treat all people fairly
Use the power of our position for the well-being of our constituents
Create an environment of honesty, openness, and integrity.

Due to safety concerns related to overnight rainfall, wet site conditions, and the forecast for intermittent rain throughout the day, a decision to postpone the start of work until tomorrow has been made.

The project is currently expected to continue through Wednesday and Thursday, with the possibility of extending into Friday if additional weather-related delays occur.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we prioritize safety and quality throughout this process. Thank you!

• Tuesday, June 9, 2026
• Wednesday, June 10, 2026
⏰ 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily
