📚✨ Happy National Literacy Day!

Today, we’re celebrating the joy of reading and the incredible impact literacy has on our communities. We also want to recognize Dolly Parton for her continued commitment to childhood literacy through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and her efforts to put books into the hands of children everywhere. ❤️📖

We recently had a great time visiting Ringgold and taking one of our District Clerks out to lunch as she prepares for retirement. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate her years of service, enjoy some good food, and make a few more memories together!

And of course, we couldn’t visit Ringgold without appreciating a little Dolly Parton history! 💕 Dolly and her late husband, Carl Dean, were married in Ringgold in 1966, and the community proudly celebrates that piece of their story with beautiful murals honoring Dolly throughout the city. It was such a fun backdrop to our visit—and a perfect reminder of the stories and people that make our communities special.

Here’s to celebrating literacy, lifelong learning, local history, and the people who make a difference in our communities! 📚❤️

💼 Celebrating National Payroll Week! 💜

The City of Hiram is proud to recognize National Payroll Week, September 7–11, 2026, and celebrate the dedicated professionals who work behind the scenes to ensure our employees are paid accurately and on time.

To honor the week, we presented a National Payroll Week Proclamation to Kathie Stancil, our Head of Human Resources, during the September 1, 2026 Regular Session Council Meeting.

Thank you to our HR and payroll professionals for the important work you do to support our employees and keep the City running smoothly! 👏

Labor Day Holiday Closure

At the August 25, 2026 Work Session, the Hiram Mayor and Council were proud to recognize the talented students of East Paulding High School’s Raider Studios, part of the Audio-Video, Technology & Film (AVTF) pathway! 🎥

These students put their skills into action by interviewing City of Hiram staff and giving our community an opportunity to learn more about the people and work behind the City.

We are grateful for the students’ time, creativity, and professionalism, and we look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the future! 👏
