We send our deepest condolences to our family across the line in Monroe County.
It is with profound sadness that the Monroe County Commission announces the passing of a loyal, long-serving county employee, Mrs. Tammy Fox.
Mrs. Fox began her career with Monroe County as a 911 Dispatcher during the program’s earliest days. She was the calm, composed voice on the other end of the line—guiding our citizens through their darkest hours with unwavering professionalism and deep love for her work. More than anything, she loved the people of this county. For many, she was the steady voice in the night when help was needed most.
Later in her career, she was promoted to Deputy Director of the 911 Center, where she continued to serve and lead with compassion and dignity. Tammy was truly selfless—always putting the needs of others before her own. In January of this year, she retired to spend precious time with the family she adored beyond measure.
She leaves behind her husband, Ashby “June” Fox; her daughters, Ashley and Vanessa; her sons, Daniel and Hunter; numerous grandchildren; and her mother, Kay Allen.
Tammy, we were honored to have you as an employee, and even more honored to have you as a friend. Your dedication, kindness, and quiet strength left a lasting mark on our courthouse family and on Monroe County.
Please keep the Fox family, the 911 Center staff, and all Courthouse employees in your thoughts and prayers as we mourn the loss of a dear co-worker and friend.
“Those we love don’t go away—they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear.”
Rest in peace, Tammy. Your service and your heart will not be forgotten.
