๐บ๐ธ 25 YEARS LATER โ WE WILL NEVER FORGET
Twenty-five years ago, our nation was forever changed.
On September 11, 2001, thousands of innocent people lost their lives, families were forever changed, and our world would never be the same.
As firefighters, we especially remember the 343 members of the FDNY who answered the call that morning. They ran toward danger while others were running away. They entered the World Trade Center knowing the risks, determined to help those in need.
343 firefighters. 343 heroes. 343 families who never got to see their loved ones come home.
They were fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, friends, and fellow firefighters. They represented the very best of the fire serviceโcourage, sacrifice, duty, and service to others.
Today, the Hinsdale Fire Department pauses to honor their memory and remember all of the firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, military members, and civilians who lost their lives on that tragic day.
We also remember the families who continue to carry that loss 25 years later, and the countless first responders whose lives were forever affected by the events of September 11th.
The fire service will forever carry the memory of those 343.
They answered the call.
They made the ultimate sacrifice.
They will never be forgotten.
