On June 4, 2026 at approximately 0857 hours, a 911 call came in reporting that a 35 year old male was found not conscious and not breathing on Plain Road. The calling parties were unsure at the time if the male had been struck by a vehicle. The calling parties were able to update 911 that the male was again breathing prior first responders arriving.
Upon arrival, first responders encountered three individuals who had located the injured male on the ground and stopped to render aid. The actions of these individuals more likely than not saved his life. By remaining calm and following the instructions provided by the 911 dispatcher, they were able to help prevent further complications until emergency personnel arrived.
Every day, people demonstrate that there is a great deal of good in the world. Once again, the best in humanity shines through.
At this time, it does not appear that this incident was a hit-and-run, but rather an accident involving a stand-up electric scooter. The rider sustained a significant head injury as well as abrasions to his hands. First Responders on scene were Hinsdale Police Department, Hinsdale Fire Department, Rescue Inc., with the assistance of Hinsdale Water Department for traffic. He was transported by UMass Lifeflight to Baystate Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
