Announcing the Newbery Medal Challenge at the Library!

The Newbery Medal is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children to the most distinguished American children's book of the year—and now, you can try to read them all!

We’ve mapped out over a century of literary history (1922–2026) into one epic reading journey, and we want you to join the fun. Whether you want to relive childhood favorites, check off the modern heavy-hitters, or discover some unexpected historical gems, pick up a tracker and see how many you can conquer.

Stop by the library to grab your tracking sheets, see how many you've already read, and start your Newbery quest today!

September is National Preparedness Month. Emergencies can happen with little or no warning, but officials say being prepared ahead of time can help individuals and families respond with greater confidence when the unexpected occurs.

National Preparedness Month is observed each September to raise awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies. The nationwide effort encourages families and communities to know their risks, develop emergency plans, build supply kits and stay informed.

The Disaster Preparedness 101 course from UniversalClass covers practical steps you can take before, during, and after natural disasters and other emergencies, helping you build a plan that protects both your family and your peace of mind.
