ational, health and self-sufficiency needs of the citizens, but also the cultural, volunteer and community involvement aspects of everyday life. Our office also administers FEMA funds for the County, works to create synergy among funded programs and the community through idea sharing and project development. Last week, we had the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the incredible volunteers who make Backpack Buddies in Liberty and Long counties possible.

Through Backpack Buddies, students receive bags filled with nutritious, shelf-stable, kid-friendly food to take home each weekend because hunger doesn’t take a break over the weekend.

We are also deeply grateful for our partnerships with Fort Stewart, Liberty County School System, and Long County Schools, whose collaboration and support help us reach students and families throughout our communities.

Thank you to every packer, pantry worker, driver, and volunteer who helped make this year’s program a success. Your dedication is helping ensure local students have access to the food they need to thrive. 💙🎒
