🚨 TRAFFIC ADVISORY – E.G. MILES PARKWAY 🚨

Due to a water leak, all westbound lanes of E.G. Miles Parkway at Veterans Parkway are currently closed so the issue can be fixed.

🚧 Westbound traffic is being routed through the center turn lane to get around the closure.

Motorists should use caution, reduce their speed, and follow the directions of officers and traffic control personnel while traveling through the area.

Please expect delays and consider using an alternate route if possible.

We will provide an update once the roadway has been fully reopened.

Tupelo Trail has been reopened

🚨 ROAD CLOSURE – TUPELO TRAIL 🚨

Tupelo Trail near Sandy Run is completely closed due to a downed tree blocking the roadway.

Motorists traveling on Tupelo Trail will need to seek an alternate route until the tree can be removed and the roadway safely reopened.

Please use caution in the area and avoid attempting to travel around the closure.

We will provide an update once the roadway has reopened.

🚧 TRAFFIC ADVISORY – GRAY FOX ROAD CLOSED 🚧

ESG has closed Gray Fox Road between Sandy Run Drive and Forest Street to all through traffic due to a water main issue.

We know Gray Fox Road is a popular cut-through for motorists traveling from Sandy Run Drive to Forest Street to use the traffic light at Highway 84. While the closure is in place, drivers will need to use an alternate route.

If this is part of your normal morning commute, please plan ahead and allow a few extra minutes of travel time.

Please use caution in the area, follow all posted signs and barricades, and do not attempt to drive around the road closure.

We will provide an update once the roadway has reopened.

All traffic lights have been restored to normal operations and traffic is flowing normally.***

🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT – USE CAUTION 🚨

Due to a localized power outage, several traffic signals along General Screven Way are either completely out or operating in flash mode.

Officers are currently at affected intersections directing traffic.

⚠️ Please slow down, use extra caution, and be patient while traveling through the area. Pay close attention to officers directing traffic and allow additional time for delays.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while power is being restored.

Hinesville, Liberty County, GA (August 29, 2026) - At the request of the Hinesville Police Department, GBI agents are investigating an officer involved shooting in Hinesville, GA. Cashane Cadeem Calder, age 31, of Hinesville, GA, was shot and injured in the incident. No officers were injured.

⚠️ ROADWAY SAFETY ALERT – STANDING WATER ⚠️

Due to the heavy rainfall we are experiencing, water is beginning to cross several roadways off of Charles C. Frasier Blvd, and some roads may become impassable.

If you encounter water covering the roadway, DO NOT attempt to drive through it. Turn around and find an alternate route. Water can be deeper and moving faster than it appears, and roadway conditions beneath the water may be compromised.

🚧 Turn Around, Don’t Risk It! 🚧

Please use caution while traveling, reduce your speed, and allow additional time to reach your destination.

We have our officers out closing roadways by placing cones across roadways that they deem unsafe to travel on.

Please do not drive around barricades or other traffic-control devices.

Stay safe and avoid flooded roadways.

Welcome to Week Two of Citizens’ Academy!

This week, our participants had the opportunity to tour the 911 Center and learn more about the important role emergency communications play in keeping our community safe.

Ms. Cortez shared valuable information about the dos and don’ts when dialing 911, as well as tips for being an effective communicator during an emergency.

We would like to thank Ms. Cortez and staff for their time and hospitality.

We then transitioned into Criminal Law & Procedure, giving our participants a closer look at the laws and procedures that guide law enforcement.

Another great week of learning, asking questions, and gaining a better understanding of the work behind the badge!

Tomorrow, August 25, South Main Street near Veterans Parkway will be reduced to one lane under traffic control while crews install a stormwater crossing. The lane reduction will be from 10 AM to 4 PM.
