Joseph Martin Elementary had a great time today at Live Oak Public Libraries Summer Reading Kick Off! Superstars registered for the public library summer reading program and got assistance linking their JME accounts to earn prizes for both. They also left with some special surprises we brought with us, including books! ๐Ÿ“š

Can you believe we have readers who have already logged one thousand minutes since school has been out? ๐Ÿคฏ Steady, routine reading adds up! Way to go!

A special thanks to the JME staff members who showed up during their summer break to encourage our Superstars to read this summer. You make our school the best place to learn and work! ๐Ÿคฉ And a great big shoutout to Ms. Frazier who got her public library card today, too. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Before dismissing for summer break, we issued gold coins for our May Beanstack Challenge winners. This was a class competition that encouraged Superstars to keep reading until the very last day of school. This brings our total to 540 books rewarded from the book vending machine in a little over a year. ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿช™๐Ÿ˜Ž Thank you Hinesville Rotary Club!

Don't forget! Our summer Beanstack challenge is currently underway. We're asking everyone to read and log at least 500 minutes before returning to school in August. The best part is Superstars can also register for Live Oak Public Library's Summer Reading Program in Beanstack without additional reading or logging. Readers earn prizes for both challenges! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ“–

Not sure how to link school and public library Beanstack accounts? Come find Mrs. McCallar at Live Oak Public Library's Summer Reading Kick-Off this Saturday, June 6th, 10am-12pm. All JME students have a LOPL membership already through the PLAY program, so they have access to new books all summer long!

As part of our continued commitment to keeping our schools safe and secure, the Liberty County Board of Education approved a clear bag policy on September 23, 2025, that will be implemented for the 2026โ€“2027 school year.

This new policy is designed to enhance safety while maintaining a positive learning environment for all students and staff. Please visit our website for complete details, FAQs, approved bag guidelines, and expectations regarding this new policy. Together, we can help keep our schools safe, secure, and focused on learning.

Last week, we celebrated our Superstars during grade level awards ceremonies. We are proud of all of the accomplishments shared during these events.

Each homeroom teacher also selects one student per year who exemplifies all of the characteristics of a Ready, Responsible, and Respectful Superstar for the Superstar of the Year award. This student goes above and beyond to stand out in the classroom and school. Featured below are this year's recipients in 1st - 5th grades.
