It is a sad day when a member of the community lives next door to the fire dept. and other fire dept must be called because our Bohannan Mtn Volunteer Fire Dept sends 1 truck to the scene. A BIG THANK YOU to surronding depts for the fine work and professionalism they have. As for our Bohannan Mtn Volunteer Fire Dept. TAKE A CLASS ON HOW TO USE THE EQUIPMENT. Also realize what keeps the fire dept running is our community and their funds. You should show more respect for the community when trying to get their dues other than the way it has been done recently. it was founded on helping a neighbor in need NOT game night and bingo. Give classes on how to administer CPR or hold smoke dector give aways. EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY. THIS IS NOT ABOUT PLAYING GAMES, BUT SAVING LIVES AND PROPERTY. not how long you can keep the roads closed. Nice idea for the tee shirt sales in rememberance of Mrs Vanderpool.but GIVE THE EXTRA MONEY TO THE FAMILY as it should be. C.R. Lance.

Also to clarify, we are NOT selling tees to raise money for the department. Some neighbors of Jeanne Vanderpool are purchasing tees honoring Jeanne. The shirts avg out to be about $8.43. so we rounded up to $8.50 to puchase one. The few pennies I chose to donate to the department, thanks, Sue

It has been an eventful & sad time for many on our little mountain. Several neighors have left us to meet their maker. You will be missed by many, Jeanne Vanderpool, Charles McChristian & Betty Martin. Also Gary & Thelma Hooper lost their home in a fire, our thoughts & prayers to all. Sue Kern

I must give a shout out to two of our local businesses , Tim at CPS in Hindsville, Mary Sizemore , for making our trucks workable again and Kimmy Watson with Tow-N-Kare Hilltop for getting our trucks to & from. Bohannan Mtn. Volunteer Fire Dept. appreciates ya'll for taking good care of us. Grateful for quality, caring local business people, thank you!

I am slow in putting out news, Mr. Otis Harris of Tonitown won the gun. The picture was in the paper along with the 4 costume contest winners. The annual board meeting elected Jim Kern, & Allen Carlson & re-elected Sue Kern. Merry Christmas Happy New Year!

Madison County Mad House Oct 24th & 25th 8-12. It's a scream! Also remember our Fall Fun Fest Sat 5-8pm both at the Madison County Fair Grounds. Lots of good clean fun, chili feast, door prizes, costume contest fun for the whole family!
