The following is maps of roads and alleys that will be closed to all traffic Sunday afternoon through Monday Morning.
750 North will be closed @ Shane and Amber Rings drive to 1375 East.

1375 East will be closed from Mark and Penny Pankens drive to 660 North.
700 North will be closed at Dayton Bergner drive to 1375 East. Residents who live on 1375E will have access on 700 North to go east to get from properties.

The following is the projected chip seal work for the Village, we will begin prepping roads at 7:00 AM tomorrow 9/12/26 with brooming and blowing. Oiling is expected to take place weather permitting mid morning 9/14/26.

This mornings rain and cooler temps allowed us to cross off, another improvement to your township roads. We were able to use the spinner bits on the grader and whittle on the road surface prior to adding nearly 60 tons of blade mix worth almost $?,000.00. ( let’s see who can guess the closest?) It’s a major ride improvement to this stretch between the curves before coming into Kemp. The only thing that would have made it better, would have been to use an asphalt paver to install it.

Please be advised that we will be closing 1375 East between 660 North to 750 North to ALL Traffic on Sunday September 13, 2026, as well the ally’s in Kemp starting shortly after 12:00 PM to allow us to prep, final compaction and Prime ahead of Mondays final round of chip seal program for 2026. Households that directly live on effected roads will receive paper notice tomorrow. As well we will put out a map showing effected stretches of road that will be effected in the adjoining Tuscola Township Road District.

2.) in addition we will be prepping Village of Hindsboro Streets that are part of their 2026 chip seal program. The dry conditions will make a fair amount of dust while brooming and blowing within the village during preparation. We ask residents who park along streets refrain from parking in normal locations while we prep on Saturday Morning and oil on Monday (weather premitting).
3.) maps for both Township and Village will be posted tomorrow Morning.

9-10-26 @ 4:00 PM road has been reopened

Please be advised that 300 North from Sunrise FS (formerly Illini FS) to East Kemp Street will be closed from 8:00 AM- 2:00 PM tomorrow and possibly Friday morning. Please avoid heavy truck traffic and implement traffic through the weekend. To avoid damage to overlayed surface as it cures. We will be oiling it early next week.

With harvest officially started in the Township, a few reminders
1.) slow down when approaching trucks loading on the side of the road
2.) give farm equipment the room they require, they will move over when it’s safe for them todo so.

3.) familiarize yourself with where field entrances are on your daily route so you can pull off to allow them to go by.
4.) Start now, leaving earlier on your daily commutes so you are not in a last minute rush to get to work or other destination. As harvest has started and will begin to get busier as more farmers start in days ahead.

5.)80,000 lbs is maximum weight allowed on township local roads, federal roads without an approved permit by local road authority.

With no rain insight we are having to add water to help get things compacted. If traveling 1375 East between 650-750 North, please SLOW DOWN !!! The dust being created for the houses is terrible, and it’s kicking up a lot of product. Please limit your speed to 15-20 MPH to mitigate these issues. Traffic is driving extremely fast and creating issues. Other option is to close this stretch to all traffic, barricading full road width until road is ready to be oiled.

🚨Updated information we will be delaying this work for a few days due to the heat. 🚨.

Giving drivers an advance heads up of planned road closure from Illini FS to East Kemp Street on 300 North. Road Closure will be from 8:00 AM-2:00 PM next week on September 1st and 2nd weather permitting. We will be installing a CMA overlay. Would ask that semi and tractor traffic avoid the area for a few days to allow product to cure with the heat expected next week. Will confirm plans on Monday once we confirm material order.

Planned road closures for 8-26-26 to 8-28-26 weather permitting for FDR work. These stretches will be closed to thru traffic. The 3 houses on 1375 will have access to drives during this time. As well the one house in kemp with drive facing alley will have access.

Tomorrow we will finish tree trimming of road ways and alleys that will be getting rebuilt. We will be placing add rock on the alleys in kemp and grading and compacting ahead of Wednesday’s scheduled work.
