LET'S GO, HINCKLEY!!!

We're SO PROUD to play a role in Hinckley Township being ranked #4 in Cleveland Magazine's Top 25 Suburbs of 2026, and "third-safest suburb in the Cleveland community." !!!

Hinckley is a special place to live, work, and raise a family. We're honored to serve this community and do our part to help make Hinckley such a great place to call home.

Each year, we pull out our surveys and spreadsheets and get to work combing over safety, school, housing, entertainment and other info that gives us a little bit of insight into Northeast Ohio's best places to live.

We really enjoyed spending some time this afternoon with a local Girl Scout Brownie troop, along with siblings and moms, as they visited the Police Department for a tour of our building. The group had the opportunity to check out a police cruiser, try out the lights and sirens, and learn a little more about what we do and how we're here to help. Of course, no visit would be complete without leaving with a few HPD goodies!

Spending time with the kids, answering their questions, and seeing their excitement firsthand is always rewarding. Their smiles and energy were a welcome change of pace after some of the more difficult calls and situations we dealt with earlier in the day.

Today, we had the absolute pleasure of attending Highland Safety Town and celebrating the kids of this year’s program!

It was a great opportunity to spend time with the children, answer questions, and reinforce important safety lessons alongside our partner agencies from Medina County. Safety Town helps provide young students with valuable knowledge and skills that can help keep them safe at home, at school, and in the community.

Congratulations to all of the Safety Town graduates on a job well done! We hope you have a safe, fun, and memorable summer.

*Scam Alert*

The Hinckley Police Department has recently received multiple complaints involving a widespread cryptocurrency scam targeting residents across Ohio.

Scammers typically contact residents by telephone, often spoofing official Sheriff's Office phone numbers and using the names of actual deputies or other law enforcement personnel to appear legitimate. The suspects falsely claim the victim has an outstanding arrest warrant, failed to appear for jury duty, or has a pending court matter requiring immediate attention. The victim is then threatened with arrest or other legal consequences if payment is not made. To purportedly resolve the issue and avoid incarceration, victims are instructed to withdraw cash from their bank accounts and deposit the funds into a local Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency ATM, where the money is transferred directly to the suspects.

As a reminder, if you receive a call of this nature, do not provide any personal information or send money. Hang up and contact the Hinckley Police Department or your local law enforcement agency before any money is exchanged.

Law enforcement agencies will never demand payment in Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, gift cards, or other unconventional payment methods to resolve warrants, court matters, or criminal investigations.

After many years of taking part in Hinckley’s Memorial Day Parade, I was honored to lead this year’s parade alongside Fire Chief Payne. While Memorial Day often signals the unofficial start of summer, we must never forget that it is, above all, a solemn day of remembrance to honor the sacrifice of the men and women who gave their lives in service to this great country.

WOW, that fast! Owner has been located and picking up her pup.
Special thanks to the wonderful neighbor who grabbed this wayward pup!

We need your help Facebook friends. This young Golden Retriever showed up at a house on Willow Brook Lane near Valley Brook Blvd. He does have two collars, one possibly an invisible fence style, but no tag. At the moment we are unable to scan for a chip, but working on it. Please share to get him home.
