❗ PSA: Hilton Head Island residents are asked to pause irrigation on June 17 & 18.

Hilton Head PSD and Broad Creek PSD are performing important upgrades to the island’s drinking water treatment facility and are asking customers not to run irrigation systems during this time. While water quality will not be affected, temporarily reducing irrigation use will help ease demand on the system while work is underway.

As a reminder, island irrigation is limited to two days per week:
✔️ Even-numbered addresses: Tuesdays & Saturdays
✔️ Odd-numbered addresses: Wednesdays & Sundays
✔️ Commercial properties: Mondays & Thursdays

From our General Manager, Pete Nardi: “The temporary irrigation cessation request is out of an abundance of caution in order to help minimize any impacts on the water distribution systems. This is a good reminder of the tremendous value of water to our island and how we all share a responsibility to use water efficiently at all times.”

Beach Renourishment Project
Update 44 - South Beach 🏖️

This Week's Progress (June 6-12, 2026)
We have some good news about our progress! 🎉
On Wednesday, June 10, Marinex Construction finished pumping sand along South Beach.
Approximately 753,000 cubic yards of sand was added on the 1.9-mile stretch of shoreline between Surf Scoter Road (Beach Marker 8) and Beach Side Drive (Beach Marker 27).
The crew then started demobilizing pipes and equipment used over the last 10 weeks.

Looking Ahead (June 13-19, 2026)
On June 16 and 17, 2026, crews will till the sand along the freshly renourished South Beach.
Marinex will continue demobilizing equipment over the next two to three weeks.
Beachgoers should still be careful while out on the beach as crews wrap up the finishing touches and remove work equipment.

Be a Naturally Good Neighbor This Summer: A Message from Mayor Alan Perry ☀️

“With more than 7,000 short-term rentals on the island, we understand that this influx can bring about a variety of concerns for residents and visitors,” said Mayor Alan Perry. “That’s precisely why we launched our short-term rental program several years ago and why we continue to refine its focus on how to be good neighbors.”

As part of our Naturally Good Neighbor campaign, we encourage everyone to:
• Observe quiet hours
• Turn off outdoor lights at night
• Follow parking and trash guidelines
• Leave no trace

Thank you for doing your part to help keep Hilton Head Island naturally beautiful and welcoming for all.
