WINS - Women in the New South

WINS - Women in the New South Women make up less than 15% of our state legislature. When we pool our resources, however, we become a force for progressive change.

WINS PAC aims to change that by helping to elect pro-choice Democratic women at the state and local level. 100 percent of your contributions go to the women candidates. WINS PAC was founded with the mission of electing pro-choice, Democratic women throughout the state of South Carolina. While supporting pro-choice legislation is a must for candidates we endorse, there are other policy areas that

we care about. These include protecting access to a full range of reproductive health care for all women, providing access to affordable health care, advancing the inclusion and protection of marginalized and disenfranchised South Carolinians, creating economic opportunities for women, addressing violence against women, supporting high quality public education, and protecting the environment. Too often the inability to fund a viable campaign creates barriers for talented women to seek public office. WINS strategically targets women running for statewide offices and the state legislature. Electing women will effect change in our state and in our communities. WINS has been founded by women for women. The founding Board of Trustees includes women who have run for office in South Carolina, former and current Democratic Party chairs, EMERGE graduates and Clyburn Fellowship graduates, and women who have experience with directing federal and state political action committees. We are currently filling the rest of the Board of Trustee slots to ensure a diverse representation of women from around the state.

🌸 Honoring Mothers & All Who Nurture the World 🌎💕

Today we celebrate mothers — and all the caregivers, nurturers, and protectors who hold up families, communities, and the world with love, strength, and grace. Whether you're a mom by birth, by choice, or by heart — thank you. Your care is a powerful force for good. 🌷

Here's to the ones who stay up late, show up early, fight for justice, heal with kindness, and keep the world turning.

💪 Women in the New South are leading the charge for change — in South Carolina and beyond.

From the State House to the school board, women are stepping up, speaking out, and shaping a future rooted in equity, justice, and progress. As Democrats and progressives, we know that real change comes when we amplify women’s voices — especially in a state where our rights, our bodies, and our values are constantly under attack.

It’s not enough to celebrate women’s leadership — we must organize, run, vote, and win.

🌊 The South is rising — and women are at the heart of the movement.

In his last days in Office, Biden agreed that the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) has met the necessary criteria for inclusion in the U.S. Constitution (10 AM this morning). HOWEVER, the Archivist of the National Archives has declared that she will not include it at this time. A protest is happening now in DC at the National Archives.

President Joe Biden announced a major opinion Friday that the Equal Rights Amendment is ratified, enshrining its protections into the Constitution, a last-minute move that some believe could pave the way to bolstering reproductive rights.
