🌺 Continuing the recovery in Nāʻālehu!

The Hawaiʻi National Guard continues to support cleanup and recovery efforts at Nāʻālehu Cemetery on Hawaiʻi Island following a pause during Hurricane Nolo. Working alongside county partners and the community, HING service members are helping restore the cemetery and care for a place of deep cultural and historical significance.

Through teamwork, dedication and respect for the community, our Guard members remain committed to supporting Hawaiʻi’s recovery. 🤙

DID YOU APPLY, OR JUST REPORT? Remember, reporting damage to the County is just the first step in seeking assistance. County inspections help open the door to disaster aid, but you still need to complete an application by the end of October for damage from the May 22 earthquake!

To apply for FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency Individual Assistance, apply online at https://disasterassistance.gov or call 800- 621-3362, daily 7am-10pm HST.

For U.S. Small Business Administration disaster loans, apply at https://lending.sba.gov/search-disaster/?disaster=HI-20015 or call 800-659-2955.

Or visit one of the Community Resource Centers in South Kona.

EARTHQUAKE ASSISTANCE-Tuesday, Sept. 29, will be the last day for the County's Community Resource Center at Hanama Place in Kailua-Kona. Assistance will continue through October at Yano Hall, Captain Cook, Mon-Thurs, 9 am-6 pm, and the public library in Kealakekua, Fri noon-4pm.

Representatives from FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Small Business Administration and Vibrant Hawaii will be available to help address questions about assistance with damage from the May 22 earthquake, running M-F in South Kona through Oct. 30, 2026.
