To clarify plans for the July 4th Celebration:

Admission to all July 4th activities remains completely free, and parking will also be free for attendees.

The Town is working with a local nonprofit organization to assist with parking operations and traffic management to help ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone. The nonprofit’s services will be compensated directly by the Town.

We appreciate everyone’s support as we continue working to improve safety and traffic flow for our growing celebration.

We’ve received reports of scam text messages and phone calls targeting EBT cardholders across Virginia. ⚠️

Scammers are pretending to be from EBT customer service, the Virginia Department of Social Services and other government agencies. They may claim:
- Your EBT card has been locked or suspended.
- There is suspicious activity on your account.
- You must “verify” your card number or PIN immediately.
- You need to click a link to avoid losing benefits.

These messages and calls are fake! Do not share your card number or PIN, click any links, or call any numbers associated with them.

🔒 We strongly encourage customers to use ConnectEBT to keep your card locked when not in use. Learn more about avoiding EBT scams and using ConnectEBT at
https://www.dss.virginia.gov/relief/food-assistance/ebt/ebt-scam-prevention.

We mourn the loss of Deputy Logan Utt who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, fellow officers, and the entire community during this difficult time.

We are deeply grateful for the courage, dedication, and selfless service shown each day by those who wear the badge. May we honor Deputy Utt's memory by remembering his commitment to protecting others and by supporting those who continue to serve.

Rest in peace, Deputy. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

No words feel large enough for a loss like this.

Our community mourns Officer Utt, who gave his life in service to others.

Behind every uniform is a family that shares in the sacrifice. Our hearts break for this fallen officer and for the wife and children now facing life without him. Their loss is immeasurable, and our fervent prayers remain with them as they navigate the difficult days ahead.

May his memory be a blessing, and may God hold all who loved him close.❤️🖤💙

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God. Matthew 5:9
