A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for our entire area until 2:00 PM this afternoon. The primary threat is destructive winds (some of which could be in excess of 80 mph). Tornadoes may occur, as well.

Have multiple ways to receive warnings and a plan to quickly get to shelter if needed.

Fatal Accident Investigation at Mannheim Rd and Washington

PLEASE AVOID THE AREA

At approximately 4:54 a.m. on July 30, 2026, the Hillside Police Department and Hillside Fire Department responded to a rollover crash at the intersection of Mannheim Road and Washington in Hillside, involving a Ford Mustang and a Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Preliminary information indicates the Trailblazer was traveling south on Mannheim Road and struck the Mustang as it turned west onto Washington.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Hillside Police Department, with assistance from the West Suburban Major Crash Unit. No further information is available at this time. Updates will be provided as the investigation continues.

The intersection will be closed for several hours, please avoid the area.
