City of Hillsdale The City of Hillsdale is the largest city and county seat of Hillsdale County, MI, chartered in 1869. Hillsdale is a city in the state of Michigan.

As of the 2010 census, the city population was 8,305. It is the county seat of Hillsdale County, and is run as a council-manager government. The train will pull into Hillsdale at approximately 11:30AM and is scheduled to depart at 3:00PM. It will be parked at the Indiana Northeastern Railroad Depot, located just south of Monroe Street.

As part of the “Hillsdale 250: Stars, Stripes & Celebration” themed Great American Celebration, this year’s parade will take place on July 4th — a change from previous years — as the community comes together for a full weekend of patriotic festivities commemorating America’s 250th anniversary.

Community organizations, local businesses, schools, churches, bands, civic groups, classic cars, floats, and other parade entries are invited to participate and help make this year’s celebration one to remember.

REMINDER: All City of Hillsdale offices and buildings are closed Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day. This includes City Hall, Board of Public Utilities, Dial-A-Ride, & Hillsdale Community Library.
