We are so proud of these candidates!
“We’re moms, professionals, and leaders—and we seriously love Hillsdale.”
Dena and Gabriella have called Hillsdale home for a combined 22 years. From the start, they’ve rolled up their sleeves and gotten involved in the community, whether it’s serving as the newly elected Ann Blanche Smith PTA President (Gabriella) or guiding Meadowbrook’s Brownie Troop to greatness (Dena). They’ve served on local sports association boards, supported our schools, coached rec and travel teams, and now they’re running for Hillsdale Town Council because they want to do more.
When they aren’t volunteering or cheering from the sidelines, they’re building careers. Dena brings 20 years of experience in marketing and communications, transitioning in 2020 into a C-suite Chief People Officer role, where she traded serving brands for serving people. Gabriella is a seasoned music industry executive with more than 23 years of experience, most recently serving as VP of Global Catalog Marketing and Strategy at a major record label distributor.
Together, they bring years of experience navigating challenging industries with passion, diplomacy, and a strong commitment to responsible financial stewardship.
Above all, their greatest connection to Hillsdale is their families. Between them, their families span generations of Hillsdale schools, activities, sports, and all the everyday experiences that make this town special. They know what it’s like to have a child starting a new school, navigating middle school or the early days of high school, growing up in Meadowbrook or Smith, or finding their place on a team or in the community.
They’re not just observing and listening to what Hillsdale needs—they’re living it.
Gabriella and her husband, Matthew, are parents to three young kids: their daughter Lola who attends Smith and twins Ava and Angelo. Dena and her husband, Steve, are raising Lucas, a freshman at Pascack Valley High School; Nolan, a new middle schooler at George White; and Frankie, a “veteran” Meadowbrook third grader—along with the Toms family’s pride and joy, their mini Goldendoodle, Georgie.
Why are they running? Because they believe in Hillsdale. They want to listen, learn, and make meaningful, thoughtful decisions together that will ultimately make Hillsdale better for us all.
They love Hillsdale—and they’re ready to work!
