In case you might not have been following, here’s what has been happening with our library since Paladino has been elected to the library board.
One of Paladino’s first actions was to launch a smear campaign against our library director. Making false claims that she was putting inappropriate books in our children’s section. He then sent emails to his constituents telling them this and in turn a full scale assault was launched against her and the library. There has never been, nor will there ever be content in the children’s library that is not age appropriate. The assault became too much for the director and she resigned shortly after, but not before she presented the truth. Proving that Paladino’s claims were outright lies. Next he has started with trying to ban books. Especially anything related to LGBTQ. But he also has several others that he wants to ban that are not LGBTQ related. And lastly, the Hillsdale Community School Board voted unanimously to put elected Hillsdale School Board Member Daniel LaRue in the vacant seat on the Library Board. Our city ordinance requires that one Hillsdale Community School board member sit on the library board. This recommendation was made two months ago. When Paladino was told about this he once again jumped into action and launched another smear campaign, spreading lies about Mr LaRue. After 2 months the vote was brought to city council. Paladino voted against LaRue’s appointment along with several other board members. Stating that LaRue, the Hillsdale Community School Board and Hillsdale Teachers are trying to push a LGBTQ agenda in our community. Once again false claims. He then added that he wants to amend the city’s current ordinance so that Hillsdale Community Schools will no longer have a seat on the Hillsdale Community Library Board. We must stand up against these attacks against our community and public education. We can not allow them to take control of our public library.
Removal of Josh Paladino from the Hillsdale Library Board
