Due to a scheduling conflict with the Michigan Association of Counties Legislative Conference, the April 28, 2026 Regular Meeting of the Hillsdale County Board of Commissioners has been changed to Monday, April 27, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. in the County Office Building, 33 McCollum Street, Suite 210, Hillsdale, MI 49242.

The County of Hillsdale Technology Department (HCTD) has received notice from AT&T today that all business wirelines in the Hillsdale Central Office will be terminated in June 2026. Further, all dial tone service from the Hillsdale AT&T Central Office will end on November 15, 2026.

If you are still using a wired phone (not wireless) from AT&T in the 437 or 439 exchange, the HCTD recommends you move your AT&T wire phone line to another vendor, or contact AT&T to discuss what they recommend.

The County of Hillsdale Tech Department has been made aware of a problem with AT&T cell phones calling the County’s office numbers. We have contacted AT&T and they are working on the issue. It may take as much as 24 hours for AT&T to resolve the matter. Until then, please email our offices or stop in.
This, fortunately, does NOT affect calls to 911 (we have been testing to confirm).

The Hillsdale County Board of Commissioners regular meeting scheduled for March 24, 2026, has a venue change. The new location will be the Hillsdale City Hall, 3rd Floor Council Chambers. The meeting will begin at 9:00 AM as normal. Due to this change in location and technological issues, there will NOT be a live stream of the meeting. It will be recorded. When we receive the recording from the City, we will post the recording on the County’s YouTube channel.

The Hillsdale County Emergency Management Office will be hosting a Skywarn® Weather Spotter show/training put on by the National Weather Service. This training will be on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will be held at the Hillsdale County MSU Extension Office, 20 Care Dr., Hillsdale MI. Registration is highly suggested.

The County of Hillsdale issued the following press release on Friday, February 20, 2026:

On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at approximately 12:30 pm, a Hillsdale County Maintenance / Facilities Department employee was involved in a motor vehicle accident in downtown Hillsdale while driving a County maintenance vehicle. The other individual involved received emergency medical treatment and was transported to a hospital in another county. The employee involved is presently on leave. The matter remains under investigation by the Michigan State Police, and no charges or tickets have been issued at this time. Hillsdale County is cooperating with this investigation. The County and its officials and staff wish for the safe and speedy recovery of the individual involved in the accident.
