Hillsborough NJ Parks and Recreation

Hillsborough NJ Parks and Recreation Youth programs include the instruction of fundamentals and skills of a variety of sports including soccer, basketball, softball, among others.

The Hillsborough Department of Parks and Recreation maintains the parks of Hillsborough and Flagtown and provides recreation programs for youth, adults, and seniors. Our youth programs begin for children as young as four years old. Sports leagues organized by the Department include fall and spring soccer, winter and summer basketball, and softball. Adult programs include informal leagues for basketball and volleyball. For a full list of program offerings, be sure to consult the program brochure, available on the website and at the Department office. To register, you may use the Community Pass system by clicking the Program Registration link; alternatively, you may call our office to register over the phone. All parks are open to the public from 8:00am to dusk, as per Hillsborough Township Ordinances, unless a Department program is offered at the park.

The Fishing Dock and Pond at Ann Van Middlesworth Park tonight was packed with over 100 young anglers hoping to reel in the Big Catch at our annual Fishing Derby.

Township Employees, members of the Hillsborough Police Department, Scouts from Troop 1776 and Mayor Catherine Payne were on hand to assist with hooks and bait. Be sure to check out the Eagle Scout Project completed by Kyle W. from Troop 1776! Kyle installed a worm composting system where residents can bring their food scraps. The compost helps cultivate worms that can be used as fishing bait.

Mayor Payne had the honor of recognizing the top three finishers. Alexis S age 9 caught a 13 oz fish, Aubrey B age 8 caught a 22 oz fish and the top prize went to Liam C age 12 who caught a 3lb 2oz Catfish!

Congratulations to all and we hope to see everyone back next year!
