Join us this weekend for another Nature is Neat program at the Appalachian Forest Museum. September's program is "Geology ROCKS".

This September, we’re digging into the fascinating world of geology with hands-on activities and plenty of opportunities to explore. Stop by the museum to check out multiple geology displays.

You’ll also have the chance to meet a live bat 🦇 and join a guided cave tour with one of the Arc’s naturalists to learn more about the geology beneath our feet.

And, of course, no geology program would be complete without a little cracking and discovering! Break open your very own geode and take it home with you. 💎

Our newest Highland County Summer Scavenger Hunt mission is all about discovering the history that's still around us today!

For Step Back in Time, find a historical site or marker anywhere in Highland County and snap a photo with it. It could be a courthouse, covered bridge, monument, old homestead, or another piece of the past.
