Hillsboro Police Department Dispatcher Job Opening

The Hillsboro Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Dispatcher. This posting will be active for 30 days, ending February 6, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.

Applicant must be at least 18 years of age, pass a criminal background check, a polygraph test and a medical physical. Please download the application from the City of Hillsboro website and submit it to the Hillsboro Police Department at 128 W. Walnut St., Hillsboro, Oh 45133. Applications must be received before the closing date listed above. Starting hourly rate is $23.22 per hour with shift differential.

Benefits include: health and dental insurance, FOP union membership upon completion of probationary period, PERS public retirement.

To the police officer that walked by this window today while I was being seen at Burwinkel Dentistry in Hillsboro… you made my day! You were on patrol, or doing whatever you were doing, and walked by, saw me, and made goofy faces lol. Then, on your way back, I wasn’t looking at first, but you waited for me to look then frantically waved like we were old friends. It made my day. Glad you were able to make fun out of your job!

In case anyone that knows him sees this, he was probably around 6 ft tall, and bald and a police officer for Hillsboro I’m assuming.

The person calling requests to stay on the line and attempts to get personal information from you. Please be aware we are not calling you for jury duty...it is a scam.
