🚨Arrest & Charges Following a Domestic Assault That Ended With a Woman Shot🚨
Sheriff Dave Marshak announces the arrest of and charges against 65-year-old Frank Forshee of Hillsboro.
Forshee allegedly shot a woman during an argument at his home on May 3rd. He was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault - 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. He's being held at the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
Excellent work by Sheriff's Office Detectives led to Forshee being taken into custody without incident. Please see the news release for further details.
Thank you to Prosecuting Attorney Trisha Stefanski and the members of the Jefferson County Prosecutor's Office for moving quickly to file charges and help keep Forshee behind bars.

Let's hear it for the DWI Unit crew.
Last night, they were recognized during the St. Louis Law Enforcement and Community Partners Banquet hosted by MADD Heartland for their efforts to keep impaired drivers off the road.
In 2025, Sheriff's Office Deputies made 358 DWI arrests. Deputies Rose, Ury, Reed, Woolford, and Huber (pictured here) were responsible for the majority of those arrests. Their dedication and sacrifice make Jefferson County roads safer.

🚨Suspected Burglar, Vehicle and Gun Thief Arrested and Charged.🚨
Sheriff Dave Marshak announces the arrest of and charges against Nicholas Chapman of Pacific.
Chapman faces numerous felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from an alleged days-long crime spree that victimized multiple Jefferson County Residents.
Following Chapman's arrest, Sheriff Marshak said, "I’m proud of the work done by our investigators. Getting criminals like this off the streets makes Jefferson County safer, and helps deliver justice to the victims.”
Chapman is being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond. See the attached news release for more details.
Investigators with the Sheriff's Office would like to thank Prosecuting Attorney Trisha Stefanski and the members of the Jefferson County Prosecutor's Office for their work applying for charges and helping keep Chapman behind bars.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of former Corrections Officer Judy Boxwell, who passed away on May, 2, 2026. Judy retired from the Sheriff's Office with 16 years of service. Service will be provided by Detrich-Mothershed on Friday the 8th.
