Our mission is to deliver healing-centered support services to survivors of sexual violence and inspire our community to resist all forms of oppression. SARC’s mission is to deliver healing-centered support services to survivors of sexual violence and inspire our community to resist all forms of oppression. At SARC, we are dedicated to delivering healing-centered support services to survivors of a

ll forms of sexual violence, recognizing the broad and complex ways in which harm occurs. We support survivors regardless of how they experience sexual violence—whether through intimate partner relationships, non-acquaintance assaults, harm caused by friends or family, bias-related violence, sexual harassment, stalking, trafficking, online harassment, or other forms of abuse. We acknowledge that each survivor’s experience is unique, and we strive to meet them with compassion, resources, and a survivor-centered approach to healing. Sexual violence does not exist in isolation; it is deeply intertwined with systems of oppression, including racism, sexism, classism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and other forms of systemic harm. These systems create conditions that allow sexual violence to persist and disproportionately impact those who are already marginalized. SARC recognizes that sexual violence is a tool of oppression—used to maintain power imbalances and silence those who resist. As an organization, we acknowledge that we, too, exist within these systems and that we must actively work to challenge and dismantle them. Our role in resisting oppression begins with prioritizing survivors, ensuring they have access to safety, advocacy, and care. We also work alongside community partner service providers, grassroots organizers, and allied organizations that share our vision for collective liberation. Through education, advocacy, and coalition-building, we aim to impact the root causes of sexual violence and to build a future where all individuals can live free from harm. By centering the voices of survivors and confronting the systems that perpetuate harm, we move toward a world where sexual violence is not just responded to but prevented. We endeavor to support survivors in their healing and play an integral role in creating a more just, equitable, and resilient community for all.

Sexual harm does not begin with assault.
It begins with normalization of-disrespect, entitlement, silence, and power without accountability.
The Netflix series Adolescence offers a window into how:
• Peer culture shapes behavior
• Online spaces accelerate harm
• Adults often miss early warning signs
• Sexual violence is connected to broader systems of power
This workshop is about earlier intervention, not fear-based parenting. It is intended for parents, caregivers, guardians, or key adults in life of youth ages ~10–18. On-site childcare provided.

Native women deserve safety. Native women deserve visibility. Native women deserve justice.
Sexual assault is a crisis that disproportionately impacts Native communities, with more than half of Native women (56%) experiencing sexual violence in their lifetime. Native women are 2.5 times more likely than non-Native women to experience r**e or sexual assault, and at least 86% of perpetrators are non-Native men. This violence is a direct result of systemic failures

Today is Denim Day. A day where we as society say there is no excuse to sexually assault someone. That nothing is an invitation for r**e.
For the past 24 years, the Denim Day campaign is hosted in April, in honor of Sexual Violence Awareness Month. The campaign was originally triggered by a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court where a r**e conviction was overturned because the justices felt that since the victim was wearing tight jeans she must have helped her ra**st remove her jeans, thereby implying consent. The following day, the women in the Italian Parliament came to work wearing jeans in solidarity with the victim.
Since then, wearing jeans on Denim Day has become a symbol of protest against erroneous and destructive attitudes about sexual assault. In this r**e prevention campaign we wear jeans as a visible means of protest against the misconceptions that surround sexual assault.

Healing happens in connection.

This May, the Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC)—in partnership with Mariposas Rise, LLC—is offering two (2) confidential, thera**st-led support groups for adult survivors of sexual assault.

These are two (2) separate group options—you can choose the format that feels most supportive for you:

🌿 In-Person Group (SARC's Healing Space within the Family Peace Center in Hillsboro)
Meets Fridays, 5:30–7:30 PM
May 16 – September 26, 2026

🌿 Virtual Group (Zoom)
Meets Wednesdays, 5:30–7:30 PM
May 13 – September 23, 2026

Both groups are thera**st-led and offer a space to be seen, heard, and supported.

Together, participants will:
• Share experiences (when they’re ready)
• Explore emotions and relationships, and gain insight
• Learn tools for coping and communication
• Reclaim a sense of power and possibility
