It's that time of year again when we maintain the common area at Mesa and Roberts. We'll be meeting to plan neighborhood events, and we are thinking about a neighborhood garage sale. We'll be going door-to-door soon to hand out the Civic Association dues notices and hope to see you!

We're having a party! The flyers will be handed out to the 85 houses in the Western Lakes East subdivision. Here are the details:

Where: Elford's House - 5537 Mirage Drive
When: 4pm - 7pm Saturday, 9/7/24
What: Block Party/Tailgate Party
Hamburgers and Hotdogs provided by the Civil Association.
Please bring a covered dish and lawn chairs - we'll have co****le and coloring for the kids. See you there!

The party was a success with nearly 40 people in attendance. several people commented that we should do social events like this in the future. With great parties like this, I think its a great idea but hope to see more of our neighbors next time. Thanks to Civic Association VP TJ Johnson for her efforts on the party, plus to Treasurer Mark Elford (and Laura Elford) for hosting at their house and cooking the food!

We're Having a Party! The Western Lakes East Civic Association is throwing a Back-to-school party on September 10 from 5pm to 7pm at the Elford's House (5537 Mirage Drive). There will be food, games, prizes and fun. Please feel free to bring a dish if you like, but we'll be having hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill along with other goodies. We have signs up and as a special outreach method, we're sending postcards to all 85 homes in the neighborhood - see you there!

Hello neighbors and sorry for the long time since the last post, and I look forward to a neighborhood meeting sometime in July, 2022. In the meantime, thanks to all who have already submitted the voluntary Civic Association dues. The due date is today (6/30/22) and if you still have not paid, please send $35 to "WLECA" and drop off at Mark Elford at 5537 Mirage Drive.

At our meeting we'll discuss upcoming events like a possible block party, and other family events so stay tuned for other announcements. Good news for the neighborhood! I just confirmed that the new apartments located just south of the Silverhorn Center are not extended stay hotel rooms as they told us last year. The apartments rent for about $900/single room to $1500 for three-room units. The rental agreements are pretty stringent and we are confident that the new units will not depreciate our homes.
