This year, as sports physicals transition to the Graham County Medical Clinic, the Graham County Health Department is excited to partner with the clinic to help create a more convenient “one stop shop” experience for families.
During sports physical appointments, the Health Department will be set up onsite with vaccines available. As part of routine care, children’s immunization records may be reviewed during their appointment. If a child is due for recommended vaccinations, parents/guardians will have the option to have those vaccines administered the same day by Health Department nursing staff.
A few important notes:
✔️ Participation is completely optional and is not required for sports physical completion
✔️ Vaccines will be billed to insurance when applicable
✔️ No-cost vaccines are available for uninsured or underinsured children through eligible programs
✔️ All sports physical appointments will continue to be scheduled through the clinic
Want to get ahead of things? Parents/guardians who would like the Health Department to review vaccine records prior to their appointment are welcome to call our office.
Our goal is simple: make it easier for families to check multiple items off their list in one visit while helping students stay healthy and ready for the school year.
