Dear Hill City Staff, Students, Families, and Community,
As I sit down to write this on my final days as your principal, I find it difficult to put into words how much this school and community have meant to me.
Serving as principal of Hill City Schools has been one of the greatest honors of my career. While my time here may have been brief, the relationships, memories, challenges, celebrations, and growth we have shared together will stay with me forever. I have had the privilege of witnessing incredible acts of kindness, resilience, dedication, and pride from our students, staff, families, and community members every single day.
To our staff: Thank you for welcoming me, supporting me, challenging me, and working alongside me. Your commitment to students is inspiring. I have seen firsthand the countless hours, caring conversations, creative lessons, and extra efforts that often go unnoticed. Hill City is a special place because of you.
To our students: Thank you for making me smile, laugh, think, and grow. Watching your achievements—in classrooms, on stages, on courts and fields, and throughout the community—has been a privilege. Continue to be curious, courageous, and kind. The future is bright because of each of you.
To our families and community: Thank you for your partnership, trust, and unwavering support of our school. The pride you have in Hill City Schools is evident, and it is one of the many reasons this district continues to thrive.
As I leave, I do so with tremendous confidence in the future of Hill City Schools. I am especially excited to welcome back the next principal. Returning to a school and community they already know and care deeply about creates a unique opportunity for continued success. I hope you will extend the same warmth, support, and partnership that you showed me. Together, you will continue building on the strong traditions and bright future that make Hill City such a remarkable place.
Though my role here is ending, my appreciation for this community is not. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the Hornet family. Thank you for allowing me to learn, lead, and grow alongside you.
I leave with a full heart, immense gratitude, and confidence that the very best is yet to come for Hill City Schools.
