2026 SPRING CLEAN-UP ANNOUNCEMENT

Hill City’s Spring Cleanup is scheduled for APRIL 20, 2026, and APRIL 21, 2026, starting at 8:00 a.m.

The following items WILL NOT be picked up during this event: concrete, household trash, glass, vehicles, tires, batteries, or chemicals.

Please separate all items into their categories of the following accepted items: Appliances (Cannot have freon in it and must be tagged), C&D, Iron, Junk, Lumber (Please separate from tree branches), and Tree Branches (Tree branches must be cut under five feet in length.)

CITY EMPLOYEES WILL NOT ENTER YOUR PRIVATE PROPERTY OR ALLEYWAYS TO PICK UP ITEMS AND WILL NOT REMOVE ITEMS FROM TRAILOR BEDS OR PICKUPS.

Please contact the City Treasurer at (785) 421-3437 to be added to the pickup list no later than Friday April 17, 2026.

The City of Hill City is now accepting applications for Summer Help. Positions that will be available include labor for the West Shop and Lifeguards for The Hill City Swimming Pool. Please visit The City Clerk’s office located in City Hall at 205 N. Pomeroy Hill City, KS 67642, , or on our website at https://cityofhillcityks.gov to inquire about these positions or to obtain an application. All applications must be submitted for review no later than April 17, 2026, at noon. If you applied through NEX-GEN, there is no need to resubmit your application.

THE CITY OF HILL CITY IS HIRING A PART-TIME CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER. HOURS ARE FLEXIBLE AND DO NOT EXCEED 30 HOURS A WEEK. PAY WILL START AT $16.00-$18.00 AN HOUR DEPENDING ON QUALIFICATIONS. THE POSITION MAINLY FOCUSES ON THE HEALTH AND WELFARE SECTION OF THE CITY OF HILL CITY CODES. THESE CODES MAY INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO PROPERTY USE, TRASH MAINTENANCE, PUBLIC NUISANCES, AND W**D CONTROL. THIS POSITION WORKS UNDER THE GENERAL DIRECTION OF THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR. QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: A MINIMUM OF A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED IS REQUIRED, MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE, VALID DRIVERS LICENSE, ABILITY TO OPERATE A CAMERA, COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE IN EXCEL, WORD, AND GOOGLE DOCS (CREATING SPREAD SHEETS, RETAINING DOCUMENTATION, AND FORMATTING LETTERS). APPLICANT MUST BE ORGANIZED AND THOROUGH. A CITY PHONE AND VEHICLE WILL BE PROVIDED FOR THE USE OF THIS POSITION DURING WORK HOURS. MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND ALL MUNICIPAL COURT PROCEEDINGS THE SECOND WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH AND REPORT TO COUNCIL MONTHLY.
