Thunderbirds, Go! ✈🎥🔥

Back in February, our team and the 3d Audiovisual Squadron documented the Air Force Thunderbirds as they honored the 250th anniversary of America.

Through their voices, we explore the daily 'grind,' the powerful 'why' behind their commitment, and the honor of representing a 70-year legacy. It is a narrative of heritage and endurance, capturing the team's journey as ambassadors for the entire U.S. Air Force.

The relationships we need in crisis are made in times of peace. See our latest video production "Allies Across the Ocean" which chronicles the relationship between Yokota Air Base, just outside Tokyo, with the surrounding community. Hear from community and Japan Air Self-Defense Force members about the allied support through Operation Tomodachi, the relief effort following the Great Tohoku Earthquake and subsequent tsunami and Fukushima Daichi Power Plant disaster in 2011. See community spirit as Yokota AB Airmen come together to carry a Mikoshi portable shrine in the Fussa Tanabata Festival for the first time since the COVID pandemic. And learn how the bonds of friendship between the base and community allow both to prosper now, and for many years to come.

If you're local to Hill Air Force Base, come see a free public screening of this short film at the Hill Aerospace Museum on Thursday, March 19 at 1 p.m. Details at https://facebook.com/events/s/free-screening-allies-across-t/1478325450552297/

Land, Air and Sea – our partnerships need no bounds 🇺🇸🤝🇯🇵

Check out this trailer showcasing the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, U.S. Forces Japan (在日米軍司令部) along with local Japanese community members, sharing their personal stories of partnership within their community.

March 11 marks the 15-year anniversary of the Great Tohoku Earthquake which sparked a massive tsunami and led to the Fukushima Daichi Power Plant disaster. Operation Tomodachi (translated "Operation Friendship"), started the very next day, rebuilding Sendai and other eastern costal towns.

The partnership of Operation Tomodachi didn't just happen – it was forged through the sense of community fostered every day with the communities around bases like Yokota Air Base, just outside Tokyo.

Be on the Lookout for the full video coming March 12.

We teamed up with our sister squadron, the 3d Audiovisual Squadron, out in El Centro, CA to get some air show practice in with some of our newer airmen during the winter practice sessions! While we were there we also captured some behind-the-scenes interview footage discussing the preparation that goes into the Thunderbirds air show performances!
