Please join us in welcoming Joseph Nebolsky, who was appointed and sworn in by Mayor Pecaro at the May 19 City Council meeting to serve as Alderman through the remainder of the current term.

Joseph is already a familiar and active presence in Highwood. He and his wife, Cathy, opened The Merchant on North Avenue last June, and he currently serves as a board member of the Highwood Chamber of Commerce.

His commitment to the local business community and civic involvement makes him a great addition to the City Council. Standing alongside him at the swearing-in ceremony were his wife and daughters.

We look forward to his leadership and contributions. Welcome, Alderman Nebolsky!

Over the next couple of days, crews will be out tackling potholes throughout town as part of the City's ongoing efforts to keep roads safe.

Winter weather can take a toll on pavement, so these repairs will help improve driving conditions and extend the life of our streets.

This maintenance work will carry us through the coming year as we look ahead to repaving Sheridan Road next year.

A new neighborhood café is on its way! 🇮🇹

Excitement continues to build as Pelago Cafe prepares to open its doors. The family‑run business, led by cousins Ruthie Amidei and Mada Ugolini-Hitchmough, has been thoughtfully planned from the ground up.

Their journey toward opening was recently featured in The Record North Shore, offering a glimpse into the inspiration and care that went into bringing their vision to life.

Best wishes to the Pelago team as they get ready to open and join Highwood’s bustling dining community!

In Italy, cafes are more than a quick stop; they are a daily ritual. Two Italian cousins hope to bring that spirit to Highwood when they open Pelago Cafe in early May, serving coffee alongside simple, freshly made sandwiches and pastas. Ruthie Amidei and Mada Ugolini Hitchmough have wanted to bring....

Congratulations to Da local boy on being named one of The New York Times’ 25 Best Restaurants in Chicago!

After getting their start in Highwood with a pop-up tent at the Evening Gourmet Market, they expanded to a food truck and later opened their flagship location here in town. That success recently paved the way for a second location in the Chicago Loop.

Hoʻomaikaʻi to Nate, Dianne, and the entire team on this exciting and well‑deserved recognition. 🌺🤙
