The Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum at Top of the Rock in Ridgedale, MO, is a little ways out of Owl Country; however, it is an amazing place that is worth a mention to history lovers. It houses 35,000 square feet of amazing displays and artifacts.
I was personally surprised to find locks of hair from George Washington and Abraham Lincoln in the museum😳, along with thousands of Native American artifacts and clothing.

From the museum website:
“Find yourself face-to-face with prehistoric creatures, galleries showcasing the American West and civil war and astounding collections of Native American artifacts and artwork as you journey through the Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum.”

If you are a current member of The Greater Highlandville-Spokane Historical & Genealogical Society, mark your calendars for April 27th @ 6 pm. We will be having our Annual Membership Meeting for the Society in the board room of Spokane School’s Central Office. Parking will be in the Middle School lot. Once you come in through Spokane Middle School, look for signs directing you toward the board room. If you can’t make it in person, we will also email a zoom link to all current paid members prior to the meeting.
Per our Bylaws, we are required to have an annual meeting for our Board and Membership, where we provide a report over the happenings and highlights of the society this past year.
The History Room at Spokane Central Office should also be nearing completion and members are invited to take a tour after the meeting.
Hope to see you there!
