As a community, we have seen a 20% decrease in pressurized irrigation (PI) water demand so far this year. Thank you for your individual efforts to conserve water! Your commitment is making a meaningful difference.
With high summer temperatures now forecast to subside into the 80s, we are hopeful that all users can reduce their PI water use by an additional 30% by reducing the number of waterings per week to two. As temperatures continue to cool into the 70s in mid-September, we ask that users reduce their water use again by watering only once a week through the end of the irrigation season.
These continued reductions will help extend the City’s stored reservoir supply and, most importantly, increase the likelihood that we will have a considerable amount of stored water remaining for next year. Thank you for doing your part to conserve water and helping to protect Highland City’s water supply!
