The General Fund pays the Pressurized Irrigation (PI) Fund $108,000 per year to water the approximately 135 acres of parks, park strip grass, and vegetation owned by the City. On June 16th, the Highland City Council adopted a budget which includes a transfer of $108,000 from the Pressurized Irrigation Fund to the General Fund. A gas line has been struck, and 5600 West between 10700 North and 10400 North is closed while emergency crews and the utility company make repairs. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes until further notice. We appreciate your patience as crews work to safely restore service and reopen the roadway!

Improvements have been underway at Highland Fire Station!

A new driveway was installed to better support the weight of emergency vehicles, improve safety for first responders and visitors, and enhance the department’s ability to serve our community. 🚧 Traffic Update: Highland Boulevard Closure 🚧

The Highland Boulevard closure above 11800 North is expected to remain in place until mid-July while the new roundabout is constructed.

To help manage neighborhood traffic and improve safety, we've added additional detour and directional signage, speed-reduction measures, speed trailers, enhanced stop sign visibility, temporary traffic controls, a new crosswalk, and continued police enforcement with added patrol during rush hours. City Hall will be closed on Monday, June 15th in observance of Juneteenth! The Library will remain open on Monday but will be closed on Friday, June 19th.

The Splash Pad is now open!☀️💦 Thanks for your patience as we completed some needed maintenance.

It will run Monday through Saturday from 10am to 8pm through Labor Day, subject to mechanical issues or weather. See highlandut.gov/234/Town-Center-Splash-Pad for details.

The Splash Pad which was originally planned to open June 3rd has been delayed due to required maintenance not yet being completed. We will let residents know as soon as it’s ready and open. We hope that will be very soon in the coming days. Thanks for your understanding!

It will run Monday through Saturday from 10am to 8pm through Labor Day, subject to mechanical issues or weather. See highlandut.gov/234/Town-Center-Splash-Pad for details.

The City Council chose to keep the Splash Pad open because it uses culinary water, not the pressurized irrigation system currently affected by drought conditions. The system recirculates water as long as it meets mandated cleanliness standards. Residents can help reduce water waste by keeping pets, food, trash, and debris out of the Splash Pad. Thanks for your help and happy summer!
