For all the members of the Tenor Corporation that want to sing bass, rich low notes are still available to you... In theory

How does one learn to sing those seemingly super-low tones? Some people are as obsessed with low notes as they are with the high ones. For w...

Webster's Dictionary defines tenor as "a continuance in a course, movement, or activity." While this is not the traditional definition as our members are used to, it is incredibly applicable to our movement as a whole. The goal of choral groups, and singing in general, is to improve over time. The Tenor Corporation is essentially continuing that movement. By creating stronger tenor sections in choirs everywhere we can strengthen the overall choir and improve any performance. Take your section to excellence, grow and improve together, encourage each other to be better and sing higher. Without each other you are alone in a world of basses and sopranos. Remember, when they say sing we say, "how high?"

A few of the many members of the Tenor Corporation hard at work getting ready for their big performance. It's tough work, but they know they'll do well (at least better than the Altos)

We at the Tenor corporation are so happy with the amount of people who have been expressing their appreciation of this truly great movement. Specifically we are thrilled that it has spread outside of the choir, changing bands and even other tight knit groups. Finally we are seeing the true purpose of the organization. Keep spreading unity and equality everyone.

All sections are equal, but some sections are more equal than others.

I would like to take some time for a quick history lesson on the word that we stand for, and one which, I believe has been muddled over the ages. The word "Tenor"comes from the Latin tenere, or "to hold." This explains the importance, early on, of the tenor line (or register) holding firm in comparison to the other vocal lines in polyphonic vocal music of the late medieval and Renaissance eras. The Tenor part acted as a musical spine, a compositional foundation, even in non-vocal works. We must keep this spirit in both our actions and our music. Never forget what we stand for as a corporation and as a section. Every time you sing you represent the Tenor Corporation. Make your section proud.

Sociologists speak of class envy, students of grade envy, and Freudians speak of p***s envy - but in the choral world (and is what is the choral world, after all, but a trembling microcosm of the very world itself?) it's tenor envy that seethes just beneath the surface, erupting now and then in some...
