The city was incorporated in 1998 and is located in Sharp County. Highland is the fourth largest city in Sharp County with a population of 1,045 and covers 8 square miles. We are bordered by Hardy, Cherokee Village and Ash Flat. Highland has a full-time Police Department and a Volunteer Fire Department. Highland is home of the Highland School District. We have three lakes: Lake Mirandy, June Lake,

and Wild Plum Lake. All three lakes offer quiet places for fishing and swimming. The city park is located next to Lake Mirandy. Whether you are looking for a quiet afternoon at the lake, or want to do a little shopping, Highland is a great place to visit. Visit for a day or stay for a lifetime!
