Our community joined us ✨On The River💫 to celebrate the release of our first poetry zine and honor our poets, artists, and each other. We are especially grateful to all the poets who attended the event and shared their work, to for putting your art (and heart) into this zine, .poet for leading our river blessing ceremony and allowing us to pour our gratitude back into the river, to for bringing your vision of a poetry zine to life (and for your steadfast drumming), to for making this amazing event happen and putting your special touch into every detail, .wines for being a partner and host, and for your support always, to and for joining us and sharing in our celebration, and your support of the artists in our community, to for your support and sharing in this evening, and to .yart for being our photographer for the night!

The Borough of Highland Park are seeking a professional artist or artist team to transform a historic General Tire sign on Woodbridge Avenue into a permanent public art landmark!

💰 Project Budget: $10,000–$15,000 all-inclusive
🎨 Professional artists & artist teams encouraged to apply
⭐ Preference given to local and regional artists

This is an exciting opportunity to take a recognizable piece of Highland Park’s automotive history and reimagine it as a vibrant work of public art. Artists are encouraged to explore Highland Park’s history, diverse community, culture, and sense of place through original, site-specific artwork.

Last week, the Highland Park Arts Commission had the pleasure of hosting a Drawing Class with the Zone 6 HP Teen Center, and they absolutely knocked it out of the park! ✏️🎨

We spent the class working on still-life drawing, and it was amazing to see the creativity, observation, and different artistic styles that came through in everyone’s work. Each student brought their own perspective to the drawings, and we couldn’t be more proud of what they created! And we’re not stopping there! We’ll be continuing our drawing classes for the next two weeks of summer, giving our young artists more opportunities to explore, create, and build their skills.

We’re excited to see what they come up with next! 🖼️✨

What a wonderful day at the Highland Park Arts Commission's candlemaking event! 🕯️
It was a great success, with an amazing turnout from the community. We were especially excited to welcome several walk-in visitors, who enjoyed viewing the beautiful candle design artwork created by the talented people of Highland Park. Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and helped make this event such a fun and creative celebration. We can't wait for the next one!
