Today we honor the life and service of Chicago Fire Department Engineer Steven Decker, who passed away in the line of duty on May 14, 2026.

Firefighter Decker dedicated his life to protecting the people of Chicago, answering the call whenever others needed help most. His courage, commitment, and sacrifice reflect the true meaning of public service.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all of his brothers and sisters at the Chicago Fire Department during this incredibly difficult time.
