Public Works crews are continuing snow and ice control operations throughout the community. With snow totals estimated at 8.5” of snow, City crews are beginning to clear all public sidewalks, beginning with the business districts and areas adjacent to schools and other public buildings. While the City’s snow parking ordinance is not yet in effect, please avoid street parking off at all possible to allow crews to work as efficiently as possible.

Having your car stolen, or having things stolen from your car is a terrible feeling.

Most car theft involves unlocked cars and cars with the keys in them.

Please be sure to take your keys when you leave your car, leave your car empty or with nothing visible. And always lock your car.

Insurance companies may deny your claim if you leave the keys in in the car or the car is left unlocked.

LRS COLLECTION UPDATE

The City has been working with LRS to clarify the service schedule for those remaining Friday customers whose January 12, 2024 regular service was delayed. Please note the following changes to the service schedule for the remainder of this week:
Highland Park Friday trash and recycling from last Friday, January 12, was completed on Wednesday, January 17.
Highland Park Thursday operations, trash, recycling and organics, are being moved to Friday, January 19.
Highland Park Friday operations, trash, recycling and organics, are being moved to Saturday, January 20.

Thank you for your patience as crews work to ensure customers receive service as quickly as possible.

Due to the severe weather on Friday, January 12, LRS was unable to complete refuse, recycling, and compost pickups as scheduled. The City has been in contact with LRS to coordinate collection for Friday customers.

Friday customers may place their refuse carts only out for collection on Monday, January 15. Friday customers should hold their recycling and compost carts for the January 19 regular collection date. Should additional containers for recycling and compost be required, LRS will accept this material without a sticker.

Note that LRS does not observe a service holiday on Monday, January 15, so there is no change to service collection for other customers this week.
