The 9th Annual , hosted by Morehead State University and , will take place November 12th, 2026! This year's theme, The State of Hunger: Where Kentucky Colleges and Communities Intersect, will be a dynamic event serving as a hub for interdisciplinary collaborations, bringing together students, representatives from colleges and universities, anti-hunger advocates, community leaders, and food justice activists from across Kentucky.

The event is FREE to attend and welcomes both college and high school students to foster networking and knowledge sharing, focusing on innovative strategies to address the pressing issue of food security within the state.

The annual Kentucky Hunger Dialogue serves as a platform for impactful conversations, idea exchange, and the development of collaborative solutions to combat food insecurity. Through the convergence of students, non-profit organizations, educators, and engaged community members, the event promotes the fusion of diverse perspectives and expertise, aiming to alleviate food insecurity.

is also accepting workshop proposals for its 2026 event. We welcome submissions from college students, faculty, staff, and community partners interested in leading a session, workshop, or panel. While we are especially interested in topics related to college food insecurity, proposals on a broad range of hunger-related issues are encouraged. The deadline to submit a proposal is September 25, 2026. Sessions are 50 minutes each. We highly encourage interactive sessions that involve attendees in discussion, projects, and engaging dialogues on the topic.

Event Spotlight: Opening Reception Keynote featuring Kacy Jackson, Jada Jackson, and Randy Lanham

Join us for an engaging opening reception that celebrates community through music, art, conversation, and connection as we explore how creative practice can build relationships, spark dialogue, and deepen community engagement.

Live music by the Randy Lanham Band will create an inviting atmosphere for networking while offering participants an opportunity to experience hands-on musical engagement modeled on youth and community programming. A facilitated conversation with Randy Lanham and local artist Kacy Jackson will explore how music education and the visual arts can build partnerships, bring communities together, strengthen relationships, and foster civic participation.

Artist Jada Jackson will also be in attendance, creating an original painting live during the reception, inviting participants to observe and engage in the creative process.

Together, these experiences will invite participants to connect, reflect, and experience firsthand how music and the visual arts can serve as powerful tools for community building and civic engagement.

Together, they will explore the role of memorials in shaping our understanding of 9/11, the stories of responders, and the health consequences that continue decades after the attacks.

As we commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11, this conversation invites us to reflect on memory, service, and our civic responsibility to carry these stories forward.
