Our last day of Nature Camp was all about trees! We learned how to identify them and make leaf prints and collections. We also carried on the tradition of adopting a tree! This year, we chose a huge white oak that kept us cool while we played at lunch! What's your favorite tree? You can adopt it here: https://ufi.mgcafe.uky.edu/adopt-a-tree

Nature Camp Day 3! We continued learning about renewable energy by experimenting with wind power, then we switched over to feathered friends by identifying different birds we noticed while hiking (and also tiny frogs🐸). A visit from Tom Sproat ended our day on a very exciting note! It was incredible to see different raptors up close and examine the adaptations that make them different from other species.

Day 2 of Nature Camp! We were joined by Katrina from SD1, who taught us how to keep our storm water clean and took us on a litter hike! In the afternoon, we learned all about bees from Beekeeper Carrie and took a closer look inside the hive at the Nature Center. Add games and projects and a day can certainly fly by!

At the first day of Nature Camp, we welcomed Amy from The Campbell Conservancy, who taught us how chickens help reduce food waste and how to identify and remove different invasive species. We also learned about renewable energy and how solar power works. Can't wait for tomorrow!
