This week I sent a letter to Governor Hochul urging her to reconsider the restrictive income threshold she set for Orange County residents to receive state flooding assistance. While I am grateful for the $3 million allotted, we know there's much more individual property damage across the county which won't be covered by insurance or FEMA. We've got to do all we can to support ALL residents in this time of need, and I've asked her to extend the same financial opportunity to more of Orange County’s impacted households--not just to our lower-income owners.
If you're among those who financially qualify for the current assistance program -- under 80% of our Area Median Income -- you can find more information and submit an interest form here: https://rupco.org/flood-assistance-program/
