We closed out a great week with a performance from the Highgate Actors Theater, affectionally known as "HAT". Way to go!

Things are getting HOG WILD at HES as we Pack the Pig for our final playground fundraiser of the year! 🐷💰

Our grade levels are in a friendly competition to see who can stuff the piggy bank the fullest, and Amber Lafar, our HES Banker, is working overtime as the piggy banks get heavier by the day!

Community members who would like to help us squeal across the finish line are welcome to stop by this week and make a donation. Every penny helps us continue building an amazing playground experience for our students!

Highgate Elementary 4th graders recently took an important walk over to the town park for a meaningful Memorial Day learning experience. Students helped raise a new flag, placed flags at the headstones of Highgate servicemen who made the ultimate sacrifice, and worked together to clean headstones while learning the true meaning behind Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

This annual event helps connect history and community in a way that brings learning to life for our students.

A special thank you to community member Ty Choiniere for supporting this tradition each year and helping connect our students to their town, its history, and those who served before us.

This week, we celebrate the incredible educators of Highgate Elementary—those in classrooms currently and those that have served years prior. From teachers to bus drivers, kitchen and facilities staff, front office, and coaches—everyone who supports our students is a teacher in our book, and we are so grateful for all you do each and every day.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing PTKO for the notes, treats, and thoughtful daily acts of kindness that have made this week so special. 💙

There is lots of fun to be had at Highgate Elementary this summer!

Crossroads Summer Camp registration is now open!

Ask us about combining Crossroads with our tutoring program. Students can sign up for tutoring exclusively for enrichment opportunities or to boost lagging skill areas OR they can combine their day and stay for Crossroads.

Today we celebrate Administrative Professionals Day by honoring Amber Lafar, who keeps our office running day in and day out! She is the keeper of all the information—managing sub coverage, phones, doors, registrations, even stepping in to support the nurse’s office when needed. She keeps the principal above water, knows all our students and families, and ensures our school runs smoothly and efficiently. We celebrate her today, but are grateful for her every single day!

Join us at Highgate Elementary School for a fun-filled Spring Fling Family Night! 🌸 Families are invited to spend the evening exploring engaging literacy and math activities designed for all ages. Together, you’ll play games, try hands-on challenges, and discover simple ways to support learning at home. Before you leave, each family will receive resources and activities to keep the learning going long after the night is over. We can’t wait to learn, play, and celebrate spring with you!
