At First Christian Academy, students are learning that community service starts young. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ

These students proudly created posters honoring our police officers as part of their community helper projects, reminding us all of the importance of kindness, respect, and public service. Their thoughtful messages and creativity made our day!

Thank you to First Christian Academy for encouraging students to recognize the people who help keep our community safe every day. We are grateful for your support and proud to serve such an amazing community.

Today, the High Springs Police Department and our School Resource Officers held our monthly meeting focused on school safety and preparedness.

With the recent increase in hoax bomb threats occurring across schools during the final weeks of the school year, we are taking proactive steps to review, retool, and strengthen our response procedures to help keep our students and staff safe.

We also want to remind parents and guardians: in the event of a school emergency, please do NOT come directly to the school campus to pick up your child unless instructed to do so. Emergency response plans may include alternative reunification or pickup locations, and specific instructions will be communicated by school officials and law enforcement.

Your cooperation helps first responders manage emergencies safely and efficiently while protecting everyone involved.

High Springs Police Department remains committed to working alongside our schools and community to maintain a safe learning environment for all students.

The school has resumed normal operations.

At this time, the incident appears to be related to the recent swatting calls that have occurred throughout Alachua County. The investigation remains ongoing.

We appreciate the cooperation and patience of students, parents, staff, and the community while first responders worked to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

Officers from the Alachua Police Department, along with assistance from the High Springs Police Department and the Alachua County Sheriffโ€™s Office, are currently on the scene at Santa Fe High School in reference to an anonymous caller reporting that a bomb had been placed at a specific location on campus.

Students have been secured in a safe location and the school has been placed on lockdown. A thorough search of the campus will be conducted with the assistance of a bomb detection K-9 from the Alachua County Sheriffโ€™s Office.

This is an ongoing incident and may cause delays. No one is permitted on school property at this time. We ask that you refrain from responding to the campus as we work to ensure the safety of students, staff, and first responders.
