🦁 A Minute with Munson

This week, I’m thinking about GRIT.

Not sandpaper—although sometimes learning can feel a little like that. 😂

Grit is what happens when hard meets heart. It’s choosing to keep going when quitting feels easier.

I see it every day at HRE:
📚 The student who reads the same page five times until it clicks.
🍎 The teacher who redesigns a lesson because the first one didn’t land.
❤️ The parent who shows up exhausted—but still shows up.

Here’s the message I want every student to remember:

Struggle is not failure. Struggle is the work.

If we can teach kids to take a breath, get back up, and keep going, we’re building something far more valuable than a test score.

Stay gritty. Keep going. You’ve got this. 🦁

It's time for another Staff Shoutout! Today, we recognize High Ridge Elementary paraprofessional Kelly Krisher!

"Kelly works diligently with students, builds wonderful relationships with students and staff, keeps our classroom organized, and is always looking for ways to help. From supporting private transportation to making pickles and cake pops, she brings care and dedication to everything she does. We are incredibly lucky to have Kelly at High Ridge Elementary!"

🥤🦁 Root Beer Float Party! 🦁🥤

Ms. Kennedy’s class earned a root beer float party for their excellent behavior! 🎉

Their Pebble Jar is filled when students show integrity, kindness, and respect. Once it’s full, students vote on their reward—and root beer floats won! 😋
