A big thank you to Tactical Judo Solutions for providing three outstanding training sessions for our crews!

A large portion of the training focused on immobilization techniques for the confined environment of an ambulance, addressing both responder self-defense and the prevention of patient self-harm. These practical skills give our crews additional tools to safely manage challenging situations while protecting themselves and their patients.

We appreciate Tactical Judo Solutions for helping us continue to train, improve, and be better prepared for the situations our firefighters and paramedics may face.

The High Ridge Firefighters Community Outreach would like to thank all the teams and sponsors that participated in the 26th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament for BackStoppers. With the support of our community we were able to raise $11,000.00 for BackStoppers. Thanks again for your continued support and we will see you next year.

High Ridge Fire District has two positions open right now!

🔹 FIRE INSPECTOR — Full-time
This position handles fire safety inspections of businesses, schools, and care facilities across the District, as well as fire code enforcement, plan review, and public fire prevention education. Monday through Friday.

🔹 RECEPTIONIST — Part-time
Reception, clerical support, and helping residents who call or stop in with questions. Weekday mornings, 10am to 2pm.

Both positions close September 25.

🚒 High Ridge firefighters recently got out on the water for some boat operations training and river familiarization!

Training like this gives our crews valuable hands-on experience with the watercraft they may use during an emergency. Depending on the situation, High Ridge Fire District can deploy inflatable rescue boats or rigid-hull rescue boats to help those in need.

It’s all about getting out there, learning, practicing, and staying ready to serve our community when it matters most.

🚒 On the Road Again — Training to Respond

Each year, High Ridge firefighters participate in a VFIS Emergency Vehicle Driving Course to test and evaluate the skills needed to safely operate fire apparatus.
The course includes several stations, including forward and reverse serpentine driving, narrowing lanes, small-area three-point turnarounds, and other evolutions designed to challenge and evaluate a firefighter’s driving abilities.

Operating an emergency vehicle takes constant training, practice, and attention to detail. Our firefighters train to safely navigate both routine and emergency situations while protecting their crew and the public.

Because getting to the emergency safely is just as important as what happens when we arrive. 🚨
